A Word from Our President…
The Torch Club of Williamsburg was in full swing last month with another great dinner presentation, this time by Dennis Litalien, who discussed “The Great Decisions Foreign Policy Program.” Dennis provided the attendees with helpful information about past and upcoming foreign policy presentations right here in Williamsburg, where the public can engage with these important issues. The 2026 series of lectures begins on February 3rd and entails eight Tuesday morning sessions. You can learn more about the upcoming lectures by visiting the League of Women Voters site or clicking here.
We can all plan for another interesting presentation this month, this time by David Tetrault all about “Life with the Circus.” If you ever had one of those days where running away to the circus seemed like the better option, David can give you the inside scoop as to whether that life is for you.
Please consider joining either our Programs Committee (contact Kathi Mestayer and Lois Manes) or the Membership Committee (contact Mike Mason or Camilla Buchanan). While these committees require board members to be part of them, the work of the committees is the key to our club’s success, so the more ideas we have for the future the stronger we will be.
Finally, many of you may have already received the fall 2025 copy of The Torch magazine. If you are interested in reading the magazine online, you can go to the site of the International Association of Torch Clubs (IATC) for an electronic copy. Just go to the IATC site, visit the Club & Member Access section, and use the club password. You can find the current edition of the magazine there.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, November 18th, and please be sure to let Denise know by noon on Friday, November 14th if you and your guests plan to attend. We always want a good count of attendees to assist Colonial Heritage Club with dinner planning.
