October Meeting Highlights – The Great Decisions Foreign Policy Program

The Torch Club of Williamsburg ‘s October dinner discussion was led by Dennis Litalien, presented on “The Great Decisions Foreign Policy Program.” He provided the members and guests with a lively discussion covering this program.

The Great Decisions lecture series is held throughout the country each year, with Virginia alone hosting more than 60 locations for the series. As director of the local Great Decisions Program, Dennis had plenty to share about past lectures, such as the range of topics and speakers over the years. The expert lectures are followed by a question and answer forum. Such an event should satisfy any curious individual wanting to better understand this world of ours.

Williamsburg is lucky enough to have a local club that will meet every Tuesday morning from February 3 to March 24 at the Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists. The topics to be covered in the 2026 lectures include:

  • America and the World: Trump 2.0 Foreign Policy
  • Trump Tariffs and the Future of the World Economy
  • U.S.-China Relations
  • Ruptured Alliances and the Risk of Nuclear Proliferation
  • Ukraine and the Future of European Security
  • Multilateral Institutions in a Changing World Order
  • U.S. Engagement in Africa
  • The Future of Human Rights and International Law
