Last month’s Annual Meeting of the International Association of Torch Clubs (IATC) was a well-attended virtual event with plenty of helpful information for members.
The initial session of the June 23rd evening meeting covered a number of topics, including the IATC’s budget for the coming year (which set aside an amount for club development), a planned August training seminar for club officers, and the selection of Winston-Salem, NC as the site for next year’s convention.
A separate session was held related to the Torch Foundation, which included the election of Foundation officers quickly followed by a discussion about the focus of the Foundation as well as its successes with fundraising. The Foundation’s Centennial Club, a restricted fund for member recruitment and forming new clubs, was also highlighted, with attendees encouraged to support this newer fund dedicated to club growth.
The evening covered other topics as well, such as member awards, the criteria for submitting articles to Torch magazine, ideas for expanding club membership, and ways to share presentations between clubs.
A full write-up of the minutes will be emailed to Torch Club of Williamsburg members.
